View to a Kill

One from the book today, for the anniversary. Here’s the shortened version to fit Twitter:

The murder of President Kennedy/
Made many ask angrily when ‘ad’ e/
Deserved such a fate?/
And led to debate/
Over who was behind this obscenity.///

And here’s the original:

The murder of President Kennedy/
Made many folks loudly ask when ‘ad’ e/
Deserved such a fate?/
And sparked much debate/
As to who was behind this obscenity.///

Not too much compromise in the changes, I think – sometimes the discipline of 140 characters can lead to valuable tightening.

** Lots more like this in There Was an Old Geezer Called Caesar. Only just over a week to go to U.S. publication date – even now there may be a copy in an Amazon book depository near you. http://www.amazon.com/There-Was-Geezer-Called-Caesar/dp/1907554866 **
